We consider witches to be creepily-cackling, pickle-nosed, evil creatures who are depicted as such through our intense social conditioning and unchallenged fears. But what if I told you that they are simply an archetype of the feminine energy that radiates in every person, at most in women and femmes?
Yes, I said it. And what I fully mean is that women are natural-born witches, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. If anything, that quality within us is what inspires our magic, keeps us in tune with the Earth, and pulls in our desires to us with ease and grace.
Do not deny it, my love, embrace it.
I understand that we've been taught that witches practice "black magic" or only perform hexes and curses, but do they really though? And if so, how successful are they at it? Because no one is out there suffering from negative energy that anyone sends them. It's their own demons and unconscious issues that truly interrupt their innate joy.
Then why do we demonize witches in children's books, scary movies, religion, and everywhere in the world? Because their power is internal and unseen.
As humans, the unseen or hidden (literally what "occult" means) sends us into a fear frenzy because our egoic mind tends to only believe what it sees. This makes complete sense as we are experiencing the physical realm where the tangible and logical reign supreme.
However, the forces we can't see with the naked eye are just as powerful as anything we can blatantly view.
Take air, for instance. We've never SEEN air before, yet it's one the most vital things for our survival on this planet. And it's extremely healing, calming, and centering; something that many physical objects can't provide.
The Universe itself represents the unseen or hidden. We can't visually experience all the energy the Divine has to offer but there is no threat in that, it's just how it is.
I mention all this to remind you that your innate, dormant, natural ability to connect with the metaphysical plane, attract and have faith in the delivering of your desires, be joyful and peaceful, respecting and playing with your sexual energy, and more, are beautiful things. Please do not let social conditioning and fear of being unsafe hinder your curiosity of exploring the magnificent power that lays deeply within you.
It's not easy being a woman in this world. We're seen as the "weaker" gender, can be seen as objects, and are constantly critiqued about how we should live our lives. But when we tap into our divine feminine dynamism, no one can tell us anything.
This is because the witchiness of our feminine energy is all about internal power: emotional intelligence, sexual liberation, manifesting with ease, authenticity, connection to Divine, fiery passion, and overall just being. How incredible is that? VERY.
We might not be able to create everything with our hands but we sure can create wonderfully with our subconscious mind and womb or sacral chakra.
These are the best places to start on our journey back to the Self as women and femmes. We must acknowledge, challenge, and release our old belief systems and fears so we can replace them with new, more expansive ones. It may not be a walk in the park, but it'll lead you to stand in your power.
The thing is that this process begins with you, and the small habits and conscious choices you make in the present moment everyday. So begin now, feel your feelings now, examine your thoughts now, listen to your intuition now, acknowledge the pain NOW. Be in flow with the natural rhythms of life and allow things to rise and fall. The discomfort won't linger forever.
Where can one start, you may ask?
Here a few ways to embrace your inner witch:
1. Create a Shadow Work and Inner Work Routine
As I mentioned earlier, the process begins with you and your dedication to personal growth. The best way to do this is through critical self-reflection, introspection, and integration.
Dig deep into the recesses of your subconscious mind to uncover all the limiting beliefs, fears, and emotions that you've been running away from for far too long.
2. Reprogram Your Subconscious Mind
My favorite activity! Think of your subconscious mind as a phone or computer: you can add in all the information you want as it also monitors, records, and reflects back to you your typical behaviors on it.
You have the power to make your subconscious mind work in your favor through programming it with the information that best aligns with you. Some fantastic ways to accomplish this are to consistently practice affirmations, meditation, visualization/embodiment, and Shadow Work itself.
3. Find Your Passion and Joy Through Cherishing Your Womb
Pause for a few minutes to close your eyes, breathe in deeply through the nose, and guide your breath to your womb space or sacral chakra area in between your pelvic bones. Give it some love, ask what it wants from you, and how it wishes to be seen. As you exhale fully from the mouth, imagine you are releasing all the tension, pain, and unfelt emotions that have been stored there for who knows how long.
Continue this cycle of breathing for as long as you need to, discomfort and all, until you are intuitively guided to an inspired action step that will lead you to your joy. You probably have known this answer all along and just didn't listen, but now is the time to create the path you're being led to because your intuition, womb, and sacral area will never lead you astray.
4. Explore, Create, and Have Faith
You are here to be as authentic as possible while fulfilling your purpose and being in service of others. Anything that doesn't pertain to your life's mission is a distraction. Now that you've found what lights you up inside, do that thing and do it often.
Along your journey, you will find that everything falls into place beautifully even if it's not EXACTLY what you've envisioned. That is because you are divinely guided and guarded on your path to healing and abundance. Do your absolute best to trust and have faith in the amazing power of the Universe and its ability to provide you with the materialization of your deepest desires.
There is not one second of your existence where you are alone or left to your own devices. The Universe (or Divine, Source, God, whatever you want to call it) is the device; it is the unlimited source for everything that was or ever will be. Isn't that marvelous?
In conclusion, being a witch isn't about casting spells or hexes or being evil personified, it is your natural-born ability to feel intensely, attract your desires, connect with the Earth and the Divine, create something from nothing, live authentically, and just to BE. With these tips, I'm sure you'll find that not only do you have these innate capabilities, you'll wish you've found them sooner.
I trust this resonated with you, my lovely darklings, and I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments...
